This bass viola da gamba, based on a Colichon original by Petr Vavrous has been placed at the disposal of Roland Houël, from Monfort-l'Amaury, France, who is studying violin-making in Mirecourt. In the photos below, however, he is portrayed playing with his cell phone and with the bass viola da gamba by Ventura Linarolo, Venice, 1585. We believe he prefers the latter...
